Chad Allen - Running Back Coach and Academic Coordinator 

Chad Allen begins his first season at East Coast Prep as Running Back Coach and the Director of Academic Services. As a member of The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and Professional Development Series, Coach Allen is certified in the areas of NCAA eligibility, coaching strategies, character, career and professional development.

Coach Allen most recently served as the Player Personnel Coordinator at West Virginia University (2011-12; 9 All-Big East Team & SPT POY, 5 All-America) and Academic Student Services Coordinator (2010-11; 18 All-Big East Academic Team). During coach’s tenure, WVU were the Big East Conference Co-Champions in 2010 and 2011. WVU also made history by finishing 10-3 as the 2012 BCS Orange Bowl Champions beating Clemson 70-33 (bowl record).

As a player, Coach Allen excelled collegiately as a defensive back for both Morehouse College and Catawba College respectively. In 2004 recognized him as a “Small School NFL Prospect” where he played for former Catawba College Defensive Coordinator and current San Francisco 49ers Head Coach, Jim Tomsula.

With over 10 years of experience, Coach Allen has had the opportunity of coaching, mentoring and developing over 100 student-athletes in the high school and college ranks. As the H.S Academic Coordinator and Defensive Backs coach at Carver-Atlanta from 2007-2009, Coach Allen developed two All-America Defensive Backs (Under-Armour A.A. & Offense-Defense A.A.). Along with coaching the #1 ranked secondary in the state of Georgia by GA Preps magazine, Coach Allen was also responsible for making sure all NCAA academic and eligibility requirements were met, coordinated study hall, tutorial and all academic enrichment programs.

Coach Allen earned his BA degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing from Morehouse College (2004) and his MS degree in Sport Management from West Virginia University (2011).
