Temple Getting Important Contributions from Three ECP Alumni

Alex Starzyk has been selected as a candidate for the Ray Guy Award, given annually to the nation's best punter. Even being named a candidate is a tremendous honor, and Alex certainly deserved it.

He's been  making big plays, and was named special teams player of the game against Stony Brook, nailing five punts for an average of 47.5 yards. Two of those punts were inside the opponent's three yard line. In total this year he punted 44 times for an average of 39.5 yards per punt.

In addition to his accomplishments on the field, he's also very accomplished in the classroom, having been named to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.

Delvon Randall only a sophomore, Delvon emerged as the starting strong safety during camp. A defensive stalwart, he recorded the first interception of his career and returned it 19 yards in the win vs. Stony Brook. He recorded his second pick of the season at Penn State and had a career- high in tackles (10) vs. SMU. He also recorded a career-high six solo tackles--including 1.0 TFL--while catching his third interception of the season against. USF  These are very impressive numbers against some very tough teams.

Sam Franklin Only a freshman but absolutely tearing it up on special teams. He recorded his first career tackle against a very worthy opponent in Penn State. Played special teams in every game this year and also made his first appearance as a defensive back against Stony Brook. ECP prepared him well for a significant role with a Division I school. Great things ahead, no doubt.
